Our Experience with Lenus Clinic: Step-by-Step

After having noticed some excellent Lenus hair transplant reviews, we decided the time had come to take a closer look at this clinic. While customer comments are always a great benefit, there are other factors to be taken into consideration when rating hair transplant clinics. Here I (Sarah) will take an all-inclusive look at Lenus Clinic.

As always, I started by heading to their website. I found that the information provided was comprehensive without going into unnecessary detail. Lenus also proudly displays its rating scores from Google Maps, Trustpilot and Proven Expert, when we last checked.

My  assessment involved a close examination of the booking process. Upon clicking the “Consultation” button, a concise five-step questionnaire prompted users to specify their gender and the location of their hair thinning. Subsequently, we received a response via WhatsApp within an hour.

While I opted out of a video call, the assistance provided remained amicable and informative. I was promptly furnished with comprehensive information about the consultation procedure, service packages, associated costs, and the intricate details of the surgical operation.

Booking Process

Prospective clients of Lenus Clinic can get an insight into what a hair transplant entails, the difference between DHI and Sapphire FUE hair transplant techniques, beard transplants and eyebrow transplants. Arrival & Accommodation

The customer care at Lenus Clinic is not limited to the procedure. The smallest details are considered, right down to where the VIP driver will collect the client at the airport. There are two packages available, the Standard Package and the Diamond All-inclusive Package. The Diamond package upgrades you to a 5-star hotel. 

On the first day, you are free to rest or explore the city. You can arrange to have your partner join you on your journey. If you arrive earlier in the day, you can arrange a visit to one of Istanbul’s acclaimed landmarks, which your coordinator can help you arrange.

Facility

 Blood test will be conducted when you arrive at the hospital on the second day of your visit. This is standard procedure to ensure that there are no indications that may stop you from having the hair transplant. You will also meet the team that is involved in your Lenus hair transplant. 

 Lenus Hair Transplant Clinic is situated in The Academic Hospital, which brings peace of mind should a situation arise. The hospital is Joint Commission International (JCI) certified and the Lenus Hair Transplant Clinic in Istanbul has an A-Certificate, issued by the Turkish Government. You will be given a gown to wear during the procedure and be offered a lunch.

Surgery & Doctor Involvement

At Lenus Hair Transplant Clinic in Turkey, patients can expect a team of 6 members that look after them. The team consists of coordinators, doctors, and other medical staff, such as nurses. Although the majority of the staff speak English, your translator will stay with you for the entirety of the procedure. 

The hair transplant will take between 6 – 8 hours. It takes place in a fully equipped hospital room, under local anaesthesia. Your scalp is numbed by a device using air pressure while the anaesthesia is administered for minimum pain. 

Aftercare

Aftercare is a vital part of a hair transplant and should be made up of regular consultations, post-op medications and care products, as a minimum. The package you have chosen will determine the amount of products that you receive. The Standard Package includes medical shampoo and foam for a month. The Diamond Package gives clinics a 6-month supply of medical shampoo, foam, lotion, and multivitamins. 

Lenus Clinic recommends using its products for a year and will sell what is not included in the price while you are there. You will be given a medical neck pillow for sleeping and any medication needed. As the anaesthesia starts to wear off, it is not uncommon to have some pain, so you will receive pain medication. Both packages also include a PRP treatment, and a blood plasma treatment to aid speedy healing. 

The day after the hair transplant, clients will be transported back to Lenus for a post-op check. A professional will also wash your hair and explain how to do it properly.

We couldn’t find too much information about who established the clinic and when it came about, although it appears to be a fairly new clinic. Lenus is located in the Academic Hospital, which is situated on the Asian side of Istanbul.

A team of 6 is allocated to every patient. These teams are made up of doctors, nurses and support services. Dr. MD A. Yildirim is part of the team conducting hair transplants.

Lenus uses DHI and Sapphire FUE methods. First, let’s talk about Sapphire FUE. The term Sapphire refers to the type of blade used during the procedure. This blade is made from sapphire crystals, which are known for their precision and sharpness. The FUE technique involves extracting individual hair follicles from the donor area and implanting them into the recipient area. The use of the Sapphire blade in FUE can result in more precise incisions, leading to minimal scarring and faster healing.

On the other hand, we have DHI, which stands for Direct Hair Implantation. This technique involves using a special tool called a Choi pen to directly implant the hair follicles into the recipient area. The major advantage of DHI is that it eliminates the need for creating incisions beforehand, as the implantation is done simultaneously. This results in reduced trauma to the scalp and potentially faster recovery time.

There are 2 packages on offer at Lenus; the Standard and the Diamond All-inclusive package. The Diamond package will upgrade you from a 4-star hotel to a 5-star, You will also get 6 months worth of medical shampoo, foam, lotion and multivitamins on the Diamond package, as opposed to a 1 month supply of Medical Shampoo and Foam on the Standard package. The Standard Package cost $2,000 and the Diamond All-inclusive Package Costs $2.500.
