The strip contains the hair follicles that will be dissected into grafts of 1-3 follicles. The surgeon then inserts the follicles into the recipient spot. With the FUE technique, the hair follicles are removed from one part of the head using a microneedle, and then they are transplanted in the balding region.

The number of grafts: With FUT, the maximum grafts transplanted in one 4-6 hour procedure is 3000. Similarly, during the FUE transplant, the number of grafts implanted into the balding region ranges between 2500-3000. This can take anything between 6-8 hours. DHI is more time-consuming as the surgeon transplants one follicle after another to the recipient region. To transplant 3,000 grafts, the procedure can take more than 10 hours. Thus, surgeons divide the process into shorter 2-3 day sessions.
