From the first consultation to having the surgery and follow-up checks I have had nothing but the best service from all of the team at LHTC. Dr. Joy is a true professional in the field, she guided my through the best possible way to achieve the results I wanted. I had my transplant in January 2024 and just had my 1 year check-up with the team. If I had any questions or concerns they were on-hand to guide me. If there’s anyone considering having a hair transplant, I cannot recommend the team here enough.

I am writing this on day 1 post operation. The procedure went very well and I was kept well informed about everything leading up to the operation. The cleanup the following day was also great. I was provided with all the necessary medications and guidance to follow for the next few weeks. I will provide updates over the next few months to keep readers informed of my progress.

Dr Joy? More like Dr Danger

Got my hair transplant almost a year ago. Results are just baby hairs not worth £12,000. She is very manipulative and charged me 12k for 1000 grafts and others I know almost half that price. On day of surgery all she did was stick two syringe in the back of my head , which left permanen scars, and went home while two amazing nurses carried out the procedure. She also tried pressuring me into writing good reviews on trust pilot just as she pressured me into giving a £300 deposit. Be wary of Dr Joyrata and do a full research before you undertake surgery.

Female hair loss

During the menopause I suffered from female pattern hair loss around the temples. I had always liked my hair so it was unexpected and upsetting. Eventually it was getting harder to hide, so I decided to have a hair transplant. A couple of my family members had already had successful transplants at LHTC, so I was very confident about Dr Kumari performing the procedure.

I am very pleased with the results, it has exceeded my expectations. My new hairline is perfect and I am now able to tie my hair back without any problems. It has improved my confidence, my only regret is that I should have done it earlier.

In the year since my transplant I have returned to the clinic several times, the follow-up care and customer service has been excellent. I would recommend LHTC to anyone considering a hair transplant.

Straight talking, honest Surgeon

I decided to have this procedure done following a significant loss in self esteem & confidence as a result of accelerated hair loss during a time of immense stress in both my work & personal life. I consider Dr Kumari to be a very empathetic and honest practitioner that is also refreshingly straight talking and honest regarding management of the procedure & keeping patient expectations realistic, which when researching practices, made me choose her surgery due to the good level of trust this builds. She is not pushy or forceful & does not speak to you like a robot but instead applies humanity, empathy & compassion throughout all consultations so you do feel that you are listened to & respected & that respect must work both ways. I also liked the cleanliness of the surgery & professionalism of the staff as even talking about the procedure can be quite personal, daunting & embarassing due to the level of toxic shame they have endured as a result of the negative effect on mental health as a result of hair loss which for some can be quite alarming & distressing – a fact that Dr Kumari & her team are well attuned to & recognise well. Dr Kumari is also a realist & recognises that the procedure’s cost (like everywhere in this industry) is quite significant, particularly during a cost of living crisis & fully understands that many patients have saved money for many years to be able to afford this procedure & this is not a fact that she takes lightly, hence the level of dignity & professionalism that she provides to all patients to provide assurance that what they have paid for is for appropriately qualified surgery, quality & a long term investment in the patient’s own overall physical & mental health & is not simply an act of empty vanity that is so often incorrectly & unfairly described as by some people who are not yet educated on this practice.

Every patient should take personal responsibility for the post after care phase of the procedure & beyond & that means following Dr Kumari’s medical advice properly & not deviating away from this, which requires taking the necessary medication each day without fail & not deciding that you know better & stopping & starting meds, not looking after the hairline properly & exposing it to direct sunlight after surgery when you should not, etc. As long as you follow the post after care medical advice verbatim & take responsibility to take care of your scalp and follicle exposures, over time, you will see the results that you want but this requires self discipline & commitment. You must also recognise that all human bodies react differently to procedures like this & the medications involved & as such, hair may grow back at different rates to others. This does not mean that the procedure has not been successful, but moreover, it in fact shows that such variety of responses initially, (all later resulting in the same future development of hairline re-establishment within the timeline advised of up to 2 years) displays a thorough consistency of proven results eventually, regardless of slightly different various rates of growth. It is worth noting that rates of growth are also dependent on following a healthy lifestyle of exercise and appropriate diet and staying away from negative influences like alcohol/drugs/cigarettes/unprotected UV ray exposure that all stunt growth & undermine the procedure’s intent & again, are the responsibility of the patient, not the surgeon or her staff. Most reasonable people recognise this.

For the small minority trying to discredit the surgery & her personal character & dedication to the required tasks in the disappointing & unfair negative comments, I would ask that, were you a surgeon, would you work over 12 hours straight with no break & risk both your own & the patient’s safety as a result of lack of appropriate rest? I think it is entirely appropriate for the supervising surgeon Dr to complete the vast majority of the surgery specific tasks such as incisions & later allow for technicians to complete the more simpler procedure of insertion of grafts, which they are highly trained to do. This is very common practice throughout this industry & not, as it has been incorrectly alleged, as a result of ‘lack of dedication’, which is a nonsense & not in keeping with factual evidence based practice.

I am currently at the 6 month stage & I can say without bias that I am hugely pleasantly surprised with the results of this procedure thus far, which has far surpassed my expectations & would encourage anyone thinking about the procedure to let go of your fears & help join the growing community of men helping to reduce the stigma attached to seeking surgical intervention which for far too long has stifled men’s personal growth. Thank you Dr Kumari for your support throughout.
